This blog is dedicated to showing my artwork from my 2-D design class at school. I'm using this blog as an outlet for my artwork and to get feedback from viewers.
This piece is my drawing of ambiguous space in oil pastel. I wanted to create the illusion of space through a warm-cool color scheme as the warm colors pop out and the cool colors recede into the background. I used the black lines to emphasize and separate space.
i love how this one looks like an abstract horse. it can be what ever you imagenation comes up with. excellent color....i really love your art when you use color
GReat job mary. You really accomplished the absract and ambiguous part of this requirement. It makes the viewer's mind jump ideas about the subject of the peice. The use of color and expressive lines flow together to make some sort of movement.
I agree with Sarah...I've loved your abstract, colorful compositions. This is a strong piece because you create a sense of space simply through the colors you used, rather than value, form, etc. which is interesting. I like how the shapes are suggestive of something real, but not quite. Perhaps you could unify the piece more by outlining more parts in black? Great job
awesome mary!! I love trying to find different faces, animals, and objects within the tangled lines of your composition! This piece is one of your stronger ones I think. The colors and bold shapes really show your confidence with the medium. Really cool composition and repetition :)
