Piece #10
For my first piece I again wanted to depict the idea of the influence of the media more than the source of the influence. To do this I incorporated the portrait to show the personal feeling of the teenagers who my concentration is focused to. Then I incorporated the magazine page with the bubbles on top to show that the thoughts of the teenager are overriding the influence of the media. I wanted to go this route with my concentration to show that teenagers can over power the influence of the media and think for themselves instead of submitting themselves to their power.

i like that your useing different perspectives with each new piece. this shows progress and pure awesomeness. even the idea is changing.
ReplyDeleteMary..I think you're really starting to figure out how to "finish" your theme (i.e. showing how free thought is better than influenced thought). I love the contrast of black and white to the color of the dots. To improve this idea further, I think you should citra-solv more than one magazine page to make a more collage effect, and then extend the bubbles out further. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI like how the portrait is half off the page and that it is more focused on the thought than the face. I would recommend following-up on Daniel's suggestion to add more dots to emphasize a concentration structure and create greater balance in the work.
